For much of my life, I identified as a high achiever, tying my sense of worth to accomplishments, recognition, and measurable outcomes. While this drive carried me through an ambitious professional career, it came at the cost of my nervous system health and emotional well-being, ultimately leading to profound burnout.
In 2024, I completed my PhD in Mind–Body Medicine with a focus on Mindful Leadership in Healthcare, exploring how burnout impacts our capacity to learn, adapt, and lead.
While my research gave me language to understand these patterns, it did not fully address how deeply they lived in the body.
Personal loss intensified this exploration as within twenty months, I lost both of my parents…including caring for my father through multiple strokes, navigating a demanding career and parenting my own children.
My nervous system was in near-constant fight-or-flight, and everyday life — juggling responsibilities, endless tasks, and even alcohol — kept me disconnected from my body and emotions.
Through Hypno-Breathwork, I discovered a safe, embodied way to release grief, exhaustion, and the deeply ingrained patterns of over-functioning. It bridged what I understood intellectually with what I needed somatically.
Today, my work combines lived experience with extensive training. I work with individuals seeking a grounded, ethical, body-based approach to emotional regulation, insight, and healing, particularly those navigating burnout, grief, and high-responsibility roles.
I’d love to guide you to a more balanced life via Hypno-Breathwork!
Why I Do This Work
My professional identity was built around being capable, accomplished, and endlessly productive…until burnout, caregiving, and grief forced me to confront how disconnected I had become. I do this work because I understand how easy it is to override your own needs in the name of responsibility, achievement, or survival…and how transformative it can be to finally slow down and listen.
My Qualifications
I hold a PhD in Mind–Body Medicine with a specialization in Mindful Leadership in Healthcare. I am also a Certified Hypno-Breathwork Facilitator and a Certified Integrative Health Coach with a Master of Science degree in Health Coaching, with additional extensive training in mindfulness applications and guided imagery practices, all of which is informed by 22 years of experience in corporate healthcare.
Why Breathwork?
Hypno-Breathwork connects the conscious and unconscious, helping people feel and process emotions that are often difficult to access through talk therapy alone. By working directly with the body and nervous system, it creates space for patterns to shift rather than just be understood.
What Peer-Reviewed Research Shows about Breathwork

“Wow, just wow. I have been in traditional therapy for years and I've never experienced anything like this. I realized through my session with Donna how tapping into my subconscious can unlock beliefs and patterns which I had no idea were affecting my daily life.”
